Director of Music Ministries 

Part-Time: 10-12 hours per week | $15,000 annually

Are you passionate about inspiring worship through music? Do you enjoy leading choirs, engaging congregations in song, and collaborating to create meaningful worship experiences? Westminster United Methodist Church in Kinston, NC, is seeking a Director of Music Ministries to lead and grow our music ministry!

About the Role:

The Director of Music Ministries serves as the primary musician and music leader for Westminster’s worship life, providing keyboard leadership and directing the Sanctuary Choir. This role includes selecting and preparing music for worship in collaboration with the pastor, developing musical ensembles as interest allows, and coordinating music for special services and church events.

Qualifications:

✔️ A personal Christian faith with a commitment to serving in a United Methodist church setting.
✔️ Strong keyboard proficiency (piano, electric piano, and/or organ). Additional instrumental skills are a plus!
✔️ Experience in choral direction and music leadership in a church setting.
✔️ The ability to work with singers and musicians of various skill levels and ages.
✔️ Familiarity with traditional hymnody, gospel, and contemporary worship music.
✔️ Strong communication and leadership skills, emphasizing collaboration and creativity.

Compensation:

💰 $15,000 base annual salary or higher based on experience and availability
🎵 Opportunity to expand hours and salary based on additional services and responsibilities.
