Luke with Lent: A Journey Through the Gospel of the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws

Writer: Dennis PeayDennis Peay

"Who are the outsiders in our midst?" This Lent, journey with us through the Gospel of Luke to discover Jesus' profound love for the marginalized. We invite you on a transformative journey through the Gospel of Luke, guided by Adam Hamilton’s compelling book, Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws. This seven-week Lenten series will lead us deeper into the heart of Jesus’ ministry—his mission to lift up the lowly, welcome the marginalized, and bring hope to those who need it most.

A Season of Renewal

Lent is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal—a season where we step back to examine our faith and seek a closer relationship with Christ. The Gospel of Luke uniquely portrays Jesus as the one who consistently reaches out to those on the fringes of society: the sinners, the sick, the poor, and the rejected. Through this study, we will explore how his message of radical love and inclusion continues to shape our faith today.

Join us starting Sunday, March 9,10 AM in-person and online anytime, for a transformative Lenten experience. Our worship services will delve into themes from Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws, complemented by study groups beginning Thursday, March 2, at 10:30 AM. Together, we'll explore how Jesus' message uplifts the marginalized. If you are interested in an alternative study group time or setting, please speak with Pastor Dennis.
